Constant cycling between freezing air and warmer maintenance temperatures forces materials to expand and contract over and over, and that stress cracks seals and loosens connections fast enough to kill a standard fixture in a matter of months. Amersol’s cold storage lightning is vapor-tight, cold-rated, and built to shrug off that cycling for years, not months.
Every fixture in this category is rated for the job. Cold-rated drivers start and run reliably down to -40ºF, where standard drivers stiffen, flicker, or fail outright. IP65 is the minimum, and our IP66 and IP69K-rated fixtures with continuous silicone gaskets stand up to condensation, frost, and high-pressure washdowns. NEMA 4X housings resist the corrosion common to freezers and blast rooms, and lower heat output eases the load on the refrigeration system itself.
